Wayne Inkster is an avid conservationist who has had a life-long interest in bird watching.  This interest led to a hobby in bird carving and subsequently to a full-time career in wildlife sculpture and teaching.

Each sculpture is meticulously hand carved from native basswood or American tupelo, with each feather finely carved and burned to give a realistic feathered finish.  Each unique piece is then hand painted to achieve fine, realistic detail.

Many of Wayne’s competition pieces have won awards at the Canadian Sportsman Show and the Ward World Championship Carving Competition among others.  His pieces have been sold to collectors all over the world.
